CHIEF JUSTICE, PATNA HC VISITED KOELWAR MENTAL HOSPITAL

ARA--------------------------Chief Justice of Patna High Court Sangam Kumar Sahu and other judges visited and inspected the Bihar State Institute of Mental Health and Allied Sciences, Koilwar (Bhojpur). Upon arrival at the institute's campus, the Chief Justice was presented with a guard of honor. Following this, the Chief Justice and other judges planted trees on the campus to promote environmental protection.

On this occasion, Justice Sudhir Singh, Justice Nani Tagia, Justice Navneet Kumar Pandey, Justice Purnendu Singh, Justice Harish Kumar, Justice Dr. Anshuman, Justice Soni Srivastava, and Justice Ajit Kumar were present. The judges visited various wards of the hospital and reviewed the treatment, facilities, and arrangements available to patients.

The purpose of the inspection was to assess the well-being of patients, inspect ongoing upgrades and renovations at the institute, and promote awareness about mental health. The Institute's Director and other officials shared detailed information about improvements in treatment and rehabilitation facilities, new initiatives, and positive changes in the quality of services.

The Judges particularly commended the housekeeping work performed by the Jeevika Didis at the Institute and praised this initiative for women's economic empowerment. On this occasion, the Chief Justice stated, "Mental health awareness and humanitarian services are important steps toward empowering society."

The program was attended by Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Health Department, Bihar; Purushottam Mishra, Principal District and Sessions Judge; Pawan Pandey, Member Secretary of the Bihar State Legal Services Authority; Tanay Sultania, District Magistrate; SP Raj; Gautam Kumar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority; other judges of the Bhojpur District Court; Deputy Development Commissioner Gunjan Singh; the Institute's Director; and other relevant officials.
