ARA---------------------------Addressing a ceremony organized at the historic Ramna Maidan Stadium in Arrah on the occasion of 'Bihar Diwas' (Bihar Day), Sanjay Singh Tiger—Minister for the Department of Labour Resources and Migrant Workers' Welfare, as well as the Department of Youth, Employment, and Skill Development of the Government of Bihar—stated in his speech that Bihar's heritage is not only ancient but has also remained immensely robust and inspiring.

Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger noted that in 1912, having separated from the Bengal Presidency, Bihar came into existence as an independent state. From that time until the present day, this region has been continuously advancing on the path of development. He emphasized that this sacred land of Bihar serves as a magnificent confluence of knowledge, science, and spirituality. It is a land that has consistently provided leadership on a global stage and has remained a pivotal hub of ideas.

Underscoring Bihar's role as the "Mother of Democracy," the Minister remarked that it was this very region that taught the world its first lessons in democratic governance. It was within the precincts of Vaishali that democracy first took birth, and it was here that the seeds of a democratic system of governance were sown—a system that today serves as the foundation for the entire world.

Discussing Bihar's contributions in the realm of spirituality, he cited the example of Gautam Buddha. He noted that it was the soil of Gaya, within this very Bihar, that transformed Siddhartha into Gautam Buddha through the power of penance and enlightenment. It was from this land that Buddha delivered his message of peace, compassion, and harmony to all of humanity—a message whose echoes continue to resonate in every corner of the globe to this day. Similarly, the teachings of Lord Mahavir—the great proponent of truth and non-violence—also emanated from this very land, providing a new direction to society.

Highlighting the region's intellectual and scientific achievements, Sanjay Singh Tiger paid tribute to the great mathematician Aryabhata. He observed that, through his revolutionary concepts of the 'zero' and the decimal system, Aryabhata introduced the entire world to new paradigms in the fields of mathematics and astronomy. Indeed, the scholars of Bihar have, through their exceptional intellect, significantly enriched the global repository of knowledge
