ARA--------------------------On Monday, near Tapeshwar Singh Indu Women's College on the Bypass Road within the city's Town Police Station limits, a private school bus ran over a Special Branch *Jamadar* (Assistant Sub-Inspector) who was riding a motorcycle. He succumbed to his injuries in the accident. He breathed his last while being transported to the Sadar Hospital for treatment. The incident caused chaos and commotion in the surrounding area. In the aftermath of the accident, the driver fled the scene, abandoning the school bus near the private bus stand.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Rajiv Ranjan—alias 'Goldie'—a 42-year-old resident of Baligaon village (Ward No. 9) under the Ayar Police Station jurisdiction, and the son of Ramlayak Singh, the PACS President of Baligaon Panchayat. He held the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Bihar Police Special Branch and was currently posted in Patna.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumar Singh, a relative of the deceased, stated that his grandfather had passed away on Tuesday, May 19, and the *Satanhaina* (seventh-day ritual) ceremony was held on Monday. After the ceremony concluded, he was traveling from his village to Patna on his motorcycle to report for duty. It was during this journey that a private school bus ran him over near Tapeshwar Singh Indu Women's College on the Arrah Bypass Road.

He sustained critical injuries in the collision. With the assistance of local residents, he was rushed to the Sadar Hospital for medical attention, where the attending physician examined him and pronounced him dead. Upon receiving the information, his family members arrived at the Sadar Hospital. The police subsequently conducted a post-mortem examination of the body.
