SASARAM----------------------------During a press meet held at the District Guest House in Rohtas, Awadhesh Narain Singh, Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, shared significant insights regarding national unity, state leadership, and the utilization of new technologies. He spoke in detail about the country's current situation, the politics of Bihar, and future plans.
During the press meet, Awadhesh Narain Singh stated that the nation places its complete trust in Narendra Modi. He remarked that it has been India's tradition to unite in the face of challenging circumstances and to accord supreme importance to its leadership.
Citing the example of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he noted that even when Vajpayee was their leader—and the Congress party was in power at the Centre—the nation had demonstrated solidarity during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. He asserted that this very tradition remains intact today, and the country is moving forward in unity.
Addressing the prevailing crisis situation, he observed that while no major adverse impact is currently visible, it remains imperative to exercise vigilance. He added that, should the need arise, it might also become necessary to curtail certain expenditures. Speaking on the politics of Bihar, he lauded the leadership of Nitish Kumar. He stated that under his leadership, the state has acquired a robust foundation—one upon which its current development rests, and which will serve as the basis for a brighter future.
Responding to a question regarding a potential change in leadership, he acknowledged that discussions surrounding the Chief Minister's possible departure naturally evoke a sense of emotional attachment and sorrow among the people. However, he clarified that the selection of a new Chief Minister falls within the purview of the party's top leadership.
Referring to his own official duties, he affirmed that in his capacity as Chairman—while presiding over the House—both the ruling side and the opposition are treated with absolute impartiality, and equal opportunities are accorded to all members. Addressing the question of how to render the Legislative Council more effective and people-centric, he revealed that a team of technical experts has been convened to explore the application of modern technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence—and that a detailed discussion on this subject is scheduled to take place shortly.
