ART WORKSHOP HELD

4-MAY-ENG 14

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA------------------------------Today, an art workshop and an exhibition of original creative works were organized in the Art Auditorium of the local Project Balika +2 School in Charpokhari, Bhojpur. Integrating the "Surakshit Shanivar" (Safe Saturday) initiative with artistic expression, students freely articulated their thoughts on the designated themes through their paintings. Approximately 40 students collaborated to create these artworks, blending their innate self-confidence with profound and meaningful ideas. On this occasion, the Acting Principal of the school, Ajay Rai, while observing the paintings, candidly shared his views regarding the educational significance of such artistic activities. In his address, Mr. Rai remarked that paintings possess a language of their own, and through these works, the students have collectively captured and cherished the essence of their childhood. Meanwhile, Senior Music Teacher Pramod Kumar addressed the theme of "fire hazards" with deep empathy, offering a nuanced perspective on the subject for the students. The paintings created by the students—specifically those depicting fire hazards—vividly portrayed the vulnerabilities inherent in village life and the helpless circumstances that arise during a fire outbreak. Additionally, Mathematics teachers Sukesh Kumar and Subhanshu Sharma praised the exhibited artworks for their social relevance, emphasizing that artistic activities are essential in every school. The paintings created by the students were characterized by their use of flat colors and simple strokes, focusing less on the technical grammar of art and more on the raw expression of ideas. The teachers highly commended the artworks created by students such as Kiran Kumari, Sonam Kumari, Ayushi Raj, Jyoti Kumari, Muskan Kumari, Punam Kumari, Riya Kumari, Gudiya Kumari, Priya Kumari, Khushbu Kumari, Anchal Kumari, Anjali Kumari, Nisha Kumari, Siya Kumari, and Varsha Kumari. By seamlessly blending the creative artworks with the "Surakshit Shanivar" theme, an artistic atmosphere was fostered within the school premises—an endeavor that was both praiseworthy and original. Despite the seemingly simple, sometimes irregular lines drawn by these young students, each painting conveyed a precise and powerful message: every citizen must remain prepared to protect themselves from disasters. The entire artistic activity was coordinated by the artist and art teacher, Roshan Rai. In his address, Mr. Rai stated that childhood is the fundamental essence of creativity. He further observed that when art and culture are integrated with academic subjects, they can foster a sense of creative awareness within society. The artistic endeavor undertaken by these students is, without a doubt, highly commendable.
