ARA----------------------Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania conducted a surprise inspection of Koilwar Community Health Center on Tuesday. While taking stock of the hospital arrangements for about an hour, he interacted directly with the patients. On receiving the complaint of regular absence of the dentist, the DM called the civil surgeon on the spot and reprimanded him and directed to conduct regular dental OPD under all circumstances from Wednesday.

The DM started the inspection from the registration counter. After this he inspected various departments of the hospital including medicine distribution counter, OPD, emergency ward. He took detailed information from the patients regarding medicine availability, testing facilities, behavior of doctors and quality of treatment. It was also asked whether the patient had come for treatment for the first time or had already availed the services of the hospital.

During the inspection, Aniket Mishra, resident of ward number three, complained about the absence of ultrasound facility in the hospital. On this, the District Magistrate sought answer from the Medical Officer in-charge Dr. Umesh Kumar Singh. The in-charge said that due to shortage of technicians the service has not been started yet. The DM assured that ultrasound facility will soon be started in the Model CHC, so that patients do not have to go out for examination.

Many patients including Riyaz, Munna and Ashfarul said that despite the dentist posted in the hospital, she does not come regularly, due to which the patients have to face problems. As soon as the complaint was received, the DM called the civil surgeon from the spot and directed to ensure regular dental OPD from Wednesday. He clearly said that providing all the necessary health services on time in government hospitals is the top priority of the administration and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.

During the inspection, medical officer in-charge Dr. Umesh Kumar Singh, BDO Veer Bahadur Pathak, CO Priyanka Kumari, police station incharge Narotamchandra, RO Rajbhushan Singh and many administrative and health department officials were present.
