BHABHUA-------------------------In a 2020 murder and assault case in Nuawn village, Kaimur district, the ADJ-X court in Bhabhua convicted two accused, sentencing them to life imprisonment and imposing hefty fines for killing one and injuring others in a violent dispute. On July 10, 2020, at around 9:30 p.m., a clash erupted in Nuawn village under Nuawn (Ramgarh) police station over scrap dumping in a complainant’s field. The accused, Dinesh alias Pappu Jayshwal, son of late Ramji Sah, and Krishna Jayshwal, son of Dinesh alias Pappu Jayshwal, both from Nuawn, attacked the complainant, Akhilash Prasad, his father, uncle, and two cousins with knives. The complainant’s father, Premchand Prasad, succumbed to his injuries, while others were grievously hurt. Based on Akhilash Prasad’s statement, an FIR was lodged at Nuawn (Ramgarh) police station. After a thorough investigation, a charge sheet was filed, and the case was tried in court. On May 27, 2025, the ADJ-X court in Kaimur (Bhabhua) found both accused guilty under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). For murder under Section 302, they received life imprisonment and a Rs 25,000 fine each, with an additional two months’ rigorous imprisonment if unpaid. For attempt to murder under Section 307, they were sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 10,000 fine each, with an extra month’s imprisonment if unpaid. Under Section 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapon), they got two years’ rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 5,000 fine each, with 15 days’ extra imprisonment if unpaid. For voluntarily causing hurt under Section 323, they received one year’s rigorous imprisonment, and for wrongful restraint under Section 341, one month’s rigorous imprisonment. All sentences will run concurrently.
