ARA----------------------------The police have achieved a major breakthrough in the sensational murder case of Rajesh Yadav, which took place on July 12, 2026, within the jurisdiction of the Bihiya police station in Bhojpur district. The Bihiya police arrested Yogendra Yadav, the prime accused named in the case, for the crime committed in broad daylight near Tipura village. Along with the arrest, the police recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession.

According to an official statement issued by the Bhojpur Superintendent of Police on Sunday, the police team apprehended the accused after acting on a tip-off. The arrested Yogendra Yadav is a resident of Tipura village under the Bihiya police station area. Police records indicate that the accused has a prior criminal history and was wanted in other cases involving firing incidents, in addition to this murder.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, stating that he had a long-standing dispute with Rajesh Yadav. He argued that had he not killed Rajesh Yadav, Rajesh would have killed him; he carried out the act out of a need for self-preservation and a desire for revenge.

It is noteworthy that on July 12, 2026, Rajesh Yadav—a history-sheeter and resident of Rupbandh (under the Jagdishpur police station area)—was shot dead near Tipura village in the Bihiya police station area. The incident sparked massive outrage among locals, leading protesters to block the Bihiya-Jagdishpur State Highway and create a significant commotion.

An FIR was registered in this case based on the statement of the deceased's family members against eight individuals, including Sachin Kumar Gupta (former Chief Councilor of Bihiya Nagar Panchayat) and Yogendra Yadav. The police are continuously conducting raids to apprehend the other accused involved in the case. Officials have stated that the remaining accused will soon be brought to justice. Following Yogendra Yadav's arrest, the police are thoroughly investigating other aspects of the case to uncover the full conspiracy behind the incident.
