BUXAR-------------------------Buxar Police have arrested a wanted accused from Delhi who had been absconding for nearly three years in a high-profile murder case. Acting on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special team apprehended the accused based on technical investigation and human intelligence.

According to the police, Omprakash Yadav—an accused named in Case No. 187/2023 at the Tilak Rai Ke Hata Police Station—had been sought for a long time. The case stems from an assault resulting from a mutual dispute. Rambachchan Yadav, who was critically injured in the incident, died during treatment; subsequently, murder charges were added to the case.

Police stated that three other accused involved in the case had already been arrested and remanded to judicial custody, whereas Omprakash Yadav had managed to evade arrest by constantly changing his location. Continuous raids were being conducted to apprehend him.

A special team was constituted under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dumraon, Polast Kumar, following the Superintendent of Police's directives. Based on technical evidence and intelligence, the team raided a location in Delhi on July 15, 2026, and arrested the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Omprakash Yadav, son of Ramavatar Yadav, a resident of Tawakal Rai Ke Dera within the jurisdiction of the Tilak Rai Ke Hata Police Station.

The operation involved SDPO Polast Kumar, Tilak Rai Ke Hata Station House Officer (SHO) Pooja Kumari, DIU Sub-Inspector Chandan Kumar, Sub-Inspector Ravindra Kumar, and the DIU Buxar team. The police produced the arrested accused before the court for further legal proceedings.
