PATNA----------------------Bihar politics has once again become entangled in a triangular contest of justice, power, and blame. The brutality against a six-year-old girl in Darbhanga and the suspicious death of a NEET student in Patna transformed the Bihar Assembly portico into a political arena. Even before the proceedings of the fifth day of the budget session began, the opposition launched a counter-offensive against the government. Slogans echoed, posters were waved, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar entered the House amid the din. A political storm raged outside, and constitutional action unfolded within.

What happened on Saturday night in Bela, within the University police station area of Darbhanga, shook the entire state. A six-year-old girl was raped and brutally murdered. Police have arrested Vikas Mahato, a resident of the neighborhood, whose clothes are claimed to contain bloodstains. This case is no longer just a criminal incident, but has become a direct indictment of the government's law and order. The opposition claims that the government is failing to protect the innocent.

Meanwhile, the case of the suspicious death of a NEET student from Jehanabad at Shambhu Girls Hostel in Patna continues to simmer. Despite investigations ranging from the SIT to the CBI, the family remains unconvinced. The student's parents are protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding a judicial inquiry overseen by a Supreme Court or High Court judge. The student's mother expressed her anguish, expressing her distrust of the Bihar government and the CBI, and appealed to the central government for justice.

MP Pappu Yadav's role in this entire issue is fueling the political fire. He openly questioned the hostel management, hospital facilities, and police operations, met with the victim's family, and claimed that his arrest was retaliation for his criticism of the government. The opposition today spoke out in protest against this arrest, from the streets to the House of Assembly.

Congress MLA Abhishek Ranjan arrived at the MP Portico wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan "Today he will be jailed, tomorrow he will be bailed, from tomorrow he will be the same game." He declared, "We stand with Pappu Yadav." Congress MLA Kamarul Hoda directly attacked the government, saying that Bihar is experiencing a monarchy, not democracy. He alleged that Pappu Yadav was punished for raising the NEET issue.

Amidst sloganeering, taunts, and accusations, the Assembly premises witnessed how criminal cases have heated up politics. The question now is: will these innocent people get justice, or will these issues also be drowned out by the political noise? The people of Bihar are waiting for answers, and the uneasiness in the corridors of power is palpable.
