PATNA-------------------------Dr. Anil Sulabh, President of the Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, along with other officials and litterateurs, celebrated the organization’s 108th Foundation Day last Monday by worshipping an idol of Goddess Durga installed at the Sammelan’s premises. They prayed for the long life of the institution and its continued, uninterrupted service to the Hindi language. In his prayers, Dr. Sulabh also included a plea for Hindi to be declared the national language of India. On this occasion, the writers also lit 108 earthen lamps (diyas) to honor the memory of their literary predecessors.
Following the worship, Dr. Sulabh announced that a grand Foundation Day celebration would be held sometime in November. The Chief Minister of Bihar has been requested to inaugurate the event, and the specific date will be announced once his confirmation is received. During the celebration, individuals who have contributed significantly to the Hindi language will be honored with titles such as ‘Sahitya-Martand’, ‘Sahitya-Shardul’, and ‘Sahitya-Chudamani’.
Those who participated in the worship included Literary Committee Convener Chittaranjan Bharti, Library Secretary Dr. Nageshwar Prasad Yadav, Treasurer Kumar Anupam, Organizing Secretary Er.
