THREE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED WITH GOLD BISCUITS,CANNABIS AND Rs. 10 LAKH IN CASH

ARA---------------------------The Town Police have achieved a major breakthrough during a campaign against narcotics in the district. Police arrested three smugglers and seized cannabis, a gold biscuit, a large amount of cash, and a pistol magazine. Acting on the instructions of SP Awadhesh Dixit, the three were arrested on Friday evening from the Ibrahim Nagar-Dharhara and Shivganj areas under the Town Police Station limits.

Recoveries from them include 12 kg 535 grams of cannabis, a 99.95-gram gold biscuit, ₹10,52,000 in cash, a pistol magazine, and two mobile phones. The arrested smugglers are Abhimanyu Kumar (alias Monu), a resident of Ibrahim Nagar; Abhishek Kumar (Sonu), a resident of Shivganj; and Rahul Patel (alias Guddu). Their arrest has revealed a link between the smuggling of cannabis and gold and the possession of illegal weapons.

Currently, the police are interrogating the trio to uncover the details of the smuggling network and the illegal arms connection. The investigation revealed that the 100-gram gold biscuit had been purchased using proceeds from cannabis smuggling.

Headquarters DSP Manoj Kumar stated at a press conference held at the Town Police Station on Saturday that the Superintendent of Police had received information on Friday regarding the sale and purchase of narcotics at a stationery shop in the Dharhara-Ibrahim Nagar neighborhood. Acting on the SP's instructions, a team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Devraj Rai immediately reached Ibrahim Nagar-Dharhara and raided the stationery shop, seizing approximately 360 grams of cannabis, ₹10,000 in cash, and two mobile phones.

Subsequently, Abhimanyu Kumar (alias Monu) was arrested. Based on information provided by him, a raid was conducted in the Shivganj neighborhood, leading to the arrests of Abhishek Kumar (Sonu) and Rahul Patel (alias Guddu). Approximately 12.5 kg of cannabis, the gold biscuit, and ₹10,42,000 in cash were recovered from them. An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered against the three individuals at the Town Police Station in connection with this case. Currently, the police are interrogating them to gather information regarding the biscuits, cannabis, and the magazine. Their backgrounds are also being investigated.
