SMUGGLER ARRESTED WITH 155.75 GRAMS OF HEROIN

BHABHUA------------------------The Mohania police station team achieved a major breakthrough in their ongoing campaign against narcotics by arresting a smuggler with 155.75 grams of heroin. The police also seized a Vivo mobile phone and a TVS Apache motorcycle from the accused's possession. According to police reports, at approximately 10:30 PM on July 28, 2026, the Mohania police received a tip-off that an individual carrying heroin was heading towards the road connecting Patna Mor to Ughhani Deeh. Acting on this information, the police team conducted a special vehicle-checking drive near the Hanuman Temple. During the operation, they intercepted a suspicious motorcyclist and searched him, recovering 155.75 grams of heroin. He was subsequently arrested on the spot. The arrested individual has been identified as Virendra Kumar (alias Veeru), son of the late Suryanath Singh, a resident of Barej (under Mohania police station limits, Kaimur district). The police seized a Vivo mobile phone and a TVS Apache motorcycle (UP 65 CP 0798) from him. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Mohania SDPO Gopal Krishna stated that a thorough investigation is underway regarding the source of the seized heroin and the forward and backward linkages associated with its distribution. Efforts are being made to identify other smugglers connected to this network, and action will be taken against them as well. Kaimur Police has affirmed that the campaign against those involved in the narcotics trade within the district will continue.
