Taking strong action regarding an incident of misconduct towards a member of the public, the police have suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Parmanand Prasad—posted at Karamchat (Sabar) Police Station—with immediate effect. According to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police's office on Tuesday, a citizen had lodged a complaint against ASI Parmanand Prasad during a 'Janata Darbar' (public grievance hearing) held on July 27, 2026, alleging casteist abuse, physical assault, and intimidation. Given the gravity of the matter, he has been suspended immediately and attached to the Police Lines (Headquarters) in Bhabua. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Bhabua, has been directed to conduct a detailed investigation into the incident. The police have clarified that further action will be taken in accordance with the rules once the investigation report is received.
