PATNA------------------------The Religious Trust Board has written to the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police (DGP), and the District Magistrate of Patna, urging action regarding the fraud and illegal seizure of land belonging to the Math located in Mauza Painapur, Naubatpur. A letter issued by the Religious Trust Board references a report published in *Tarun Mitra*, highlighting a conspiracy involving fraud in the *Jamabandi* (land record) of the *Math* (monastery) land, as well as attempts by land mafias to usurp the land by presenting forged documents. Prior to this, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) swung into action following a letter issued by DG Kundan Krishnan of the Police Headquarters. The EOU will oversee the functioning of the committee constituted by the Patna District Magistrate. The EOU will soon issue guidelines to the committee investigating the *Math* land issue and will review the committee's report. Anxiety is mounting among those involved in the fraud and forgery related to the usurpation of the *Math* land.
As the issue of the *Math* land gains attention, the identities of those involved in the fraud and forgery are beginning to be exposed. The then Circle Officer (CO) Vijendra Kumar fraudulently altered the land area in *Jamabandi* number 35/1 from 02 decimals to 3.03 decimals. Subsequently, the then CO Mrityunjay Kumar created a fraudulent syndicate by opening *Jamabandi* number 17 based on a forged deed; simultaneously, he reduced the area of the 15 acres and 48 decimals of land—originally registered under the *Math* in *Jamabandi* number 85—to 5 acres and 43 decimals. Investigations are expected to be conducted into the roles of several individuals—including claimants Tuntun Gop, Praveen Kumar (alias Baua Ji), Kundan Kumar, Anandi Paswan, Rohit Kumar, Amit Kumar, Ashutosh Kumar, Gautam Kumar (owner of GRDA Infra Limited), Ashwini Kumar, Neeraj Kumar, Atul Kumar, Ravindra Mahto, Ram Kishore Sharma, and Akshavat Sharma—as well as the then revenue employee, the then Registrar at the Registration Office, and the record room staff. Land mafias have distributed lavish bribes and gifts to facilitate the *Jamabandi* (land record mutation) for the *Math* (monastery) land. Acting as a middleman, Ashwini Kumar ensured that all the official's conditions were met to open the *Jamabandi*. With the gifts received in exchange for processing this fraudulent mutation, one official constructed a luxurious five-story building on a 1.5-*katta* plot behind a car showroom at Saguna Mor; meanwhile, another official purchased three adjacent flats in an apartment complex near RPS—one in his own name, one in his brother's name, and the third in his father's name. Additionally, one acquired a Creta car, while the other purchased an Innova.
