BUXAR----------------------------A protest was held on the premises of Chausa Railway Station under the aegis of the 'Chausa Railway Passenger Struggle Committee' (Chausa Railway Yatri Sangharsh Samiti), demanding the expansion of passenger amenities and the introduction of halts for key trains. During the protest, committee members undertook a hunger strike, urging the railway administration to promptly address the challenges faced by passengers. The hunger strike was called off after railway officials provided assurances of a positive response.

Dr. Manoj Kumar Yadav, an advocate and former District Council member (Zila Parishad) of Buxar, who serves as the committee's president, stated that Chausa Railway Station is a major transit hub for thousands of passengers. Despite this, the lack of essential facilities causes significant hardship for travelers. He emphasized that this movement was initiated with the best interests of the passengers in mind.

The committee requested that train numbers 03287/03288 (Buxar–Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Fast Passenger) be scheduled to stop at Chausa in both directions. Furthermore, they demanded that the Shramjeevi Express, Howrah–Amritsar Mail, Magadh Express, and Jan Shatabdi Express be provided with halts at the station.

Additionally, the committee strongly advocated for the installation of high-mast lighting, deluxe restrooms, air-conditioned retiring rooms, water coolers, and a computerized reservation system within the station premises.

During the protest, Buxar Traffic Inspector Vindhyachal Pandey, Chausa Station Manager Wasim Khan, and RPF Sub-Inspector Dilip Kumar Ojha—acting on behalf of the ADRM and the Divisional Operational Manager of the Danapur Railway Division—facilitated the communication of the committee's demands to the relevant authorities. Senior officials gave assurances that the demands would be considered favorably and that necessary action would be taken to resolve the issues. Following this, Station Manager Wasim Khan, Traffic Inspector Vindhyachal Pandey, and RPF Sub-Inspector Dilip Kumar Ojha jointly brought the hunger strike to an end by offering juice to the protesters. The committee announced the suspension of the agitation but clarified that it would continue to monitor the actions taken by the railway administration until concrete steps are taken regarding their demands. If no action is initiated in line with the assurances given, a future course of action will be determined.

Hundreds of people were present at the event, including Vishwajeet Kumar Upadhyay, Ward Councilor Chandan Chaudhary, Captain Ashok Yadav, Anand Rawat, Bharat Pandey, Ramlakhan Pal, Sunil Kumar Singh, Ashwani Kumar Verma, Uday Sir, Vijay Kumar Dhusia, Jagjeevan Ram, Mirhamza Khan, Rampravesh Rajbhar, Deepak Kumar, Ashok Ram, Imtiyaz Rajak, Amit Chaudhary, Sudhir Kumar Malakar, Ramchandra Malakar, Shivshankar Ram, and Govind Kharwar.
