National Lok Adalat to be Held in Budaun on September 12
RNI Budaun: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budaun, will organise a National Lok Adalat across the district on September 12 from 10 am, under the chairmanship of the District Judge and Chairman, DLSA.
The initiative is being undertaken in compliance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, and the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Lucknow. The Lok Adalat will focus on resolving cases through mutual consent and amicable settlements.
As part of preparations for the event, meetings were held on September 7 and 8 with administrative, police and civic officials. Rajveer Singh, Nodal Officer for the National Lok Adalat, and Ankit Rastogi, Civil Judge (Senior Division)/Fast Track Judge/In-charge Secretary, DLSA, Budaun, reviewed arrangements and issued necessary directions to the officials.
Police Circle Officers, tehsildars, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, the Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), the Circle Officer (Traffic) and executive officers of municipal councils and nagar panchayats attended the meetings.
Officials were directed to undertake extensive publicity so that members of the public are informed about the National Lok Adalat and encouraged to bring forward eligible disputes for settlement.
Focus on pre-litigation disputes
The officials were asked to identify and list a maximum number of pre-litigation disputes and make efforts to have them settled through mutual agreement during the Lok Adalat. The DLSA stressed that coordinated efforts by the administration, police and civic bodies would be crucial to ensuring effective disposal of cases during the event.
