BUXAR--------------------------Maintenance work has commenced for the CCTV cameras installed in the Ramgarh Nagar Panchayat area at a cost of approximately ₹75 lakh. 'Kaimur Top News' had prominently highlighted this important issue concerning the town's security system. Following the report, information has emerged that work on the maintenance and technical upgrading of the cameras has commenced. Social activist Sonu Kumar Gupta shared this update, noting that the municipal administration has initiated the maintenance of the CCTV cameras.
It is worth noting that approximately 80 CCTV cameras have been installed in the Ramgarh town area to strengthen security. These cameras are considered crucial for monitoring the town. However, concerns regarding their functionality had been consistently raised. Complaints surfaced that many cameras in the area were non-functional, while the image and video quality of some operational cameras was unsatisfactory. Consequently, there were apprehensions about difficulties in identifying suspects or investigating the sequence of events following any criminal incident.
Addressing this issue, social activist Sonu Kumar Gupta had submitted a formal request to the Executive Officer of the Nagar Panchayat, demanding a technical inspection of the cameras, the reactivation of non-functional units, and the repair of faulty equipment. Subsequently, 'Kaimur Top News' also prominently highlighted the matter, bringing the status of the town's security cameras to public attention.
With the commencement of maintenance work, residents are hopeful that all cameras will soon be fully operational. Social activist Sonu Gupta described the municipal administration's move to start maintenance as a positive step. He remarked that it remains to be seen how long the maintenance work takes and when all the town's cameras will become fully functional.
He also thanked 'Kaimur Top News' for prominently raising local issues. He stated that when local problems are conveyed to responsible officials through the media, the likelihood of action being taken towards their resolution increases.
Meanwhile, local residents also expressed satisfaction over the start of the maintenance work and thanked 'Kaimur Top News'. They emphasized that the continuous operation of CCTV cameras is essential for strengthening the town's security system. Cameras installed in markets, on main roads, and at key locations not only help monitor suspicious activities but can also provide crucial clues for investigations following an incident.
Residents have expressed the hope that the maintenance work will not be limited to just a few cameras but will encompass a comprehensive technical check of the entire system. It is essential to address issues regarding image quality, connectivity, recording systems, and the overall surveillance setup to ensure that clear footage is available when needed.
All eyes are now on when the maintenance work for the CCTV cameras in the Ramgarh Nagar Panchayat will be completed. Once these cameras—regarded as the town's "third eye" for security—are fully operational, the surveillance system is expected to be significantly strengthened. Furthermore, it remains to be seen how a system for the regular maintenance of these cameras will be ensured in the future to prevent such issues from recurring.
