BHABHUA---------------------------The District Magistrate (DM) has adopted a stern approach regarding alleged negligence in the disposal of revenue cases in the Mohania Circle. Following a surprise inspection of the Circle Office on Tuesday—where a large number of pending cases and irregularities in record-keeping were discovered—the DM has sought an explanation from the Circle Officer. Reportedly, the district administration had previously ordered an inquiry by the Deputy Collector Land Reforms (DCLR) following complaints about unnecessary delays in resolving revenue matters. The inquiry report revealed that several cases had remained pending for extended periods without valid reasons. Based on these findings, an explanation has been demanded from the Circle Officer. The inspection revealed that out of 3,208 mutation applications in the Mohania Circle, 701 cases remain pending; many of these had exceeded the prescribed timeframe significantly. Additionally, 1,944 'Parimarjan' (land record correction) cases are awaiting disposal, a matter that drew the DM's displeasure. Of the 360 encroachment-related cases, 173 remain unresolved. Deficiencies were also noted in the maintenance of files and records concerning land disputes and encroachments on government land. The DM directed the immediate disposal of all pending cases and the proper organization of records. During the inspection, the DM clearly stated that unnecessary delays in revenue matters affecting the general public would not be tolerated. He warned that administrative and disciplinary action would be taken against concerned officials and staff found negligent in their duties or in violation of rules. This administrative move has once again brought the functioning of the Mohania Circle Office into the spotlight, while the public now awaits further administrative steps regarding the speedy resolution of the pending cases.
