PATNA-----------------------While Thursday was a day of intense uproar in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Shahpur MLA Rakesh Ranjan Ojha demonstrated the qualities of a sensible public representative while presenting his views within the House. MLA Rakesh Ranjan Ojha had himself sustained injuries during a violent clash with Congress workers—an incident that occurred amidst a protest organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) near the Congress headquarters in Patna. Despite his injuries, the young BJP MLA adopted a liberal and forward-looking stance regarding the students during his address in the House.

The most significant and talked-about moment of the entire episode was when demands were raised in the House for action against the miscreants and attackers. While other BJP MLAs insisted on strict legal measures, I.P. Gupta attempted to shield the individuals involved by identifying them as students—a move that led to a heated exchange with the BJP legislators.

Amidst this heated debate, young BJP MLA Rakesh Ranjan Ojha raised his voice to assert that while the true culprits who incited the students should not be spared, he remained deeply concerned about the students' future. He clearly demanded that no punitive action be taken against the students, as it would jeopardize their prospects. He acknowledged that the younger generation is often easily swayed, but emphasized that as a responsible society and administration, we must prioritize their careers.

This stance—prioritizing responsibility toward the future generation despite political opposition—distinguished the Shahpur MLA from the hardline demands of other senior BJP leaders, highlighting his humane approach.
