ARA MP QUESTIONS ON SONE RIVER DEATHS

ARA MP QUESTIONS ON SONE RIVER DEATHS

25-OCT-ENG 3

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA---------------------------CPI(ML) MP Sudama Prasad on 23 October met the family of retired customs officer Ramkumar Singh in Ara, expressed condolences and sought security for the family. He alleged that crime is being protected under the current regime in Bihar and that land mafias and circle office nexus are promoting such incidents. Ramkumar Singh had been approaching district administration to the Chief Minister for months over a land dispute without resolution, the MP claimed.

Later, the MP visited Teerthkaul in Sandesh block and met families of four people (including three children) who drowned in the Son river. He questioned excessive sand mining creating deep pits and lack of administrative oversight, blaming the district administration and mining department for failing to control illegal mining. CPI(ML) district functionaries including Dilraj Preetam were present.
