ARA-----------------------A rabi crop workshop and training programme was organised at the agriculture building premises in Badhara block headquarters. Officials from the agriculture department, scientists, public representatives and farmers participated.
Block Development Officer Nilesh Kumar stressed forming groups so that more farmers can benefit from departmental schemes. Mayank Kumar highlighted agricultural mechanisation. ATMA Deputy PD Sompal and Block Agriculture Officer Ramprakash provided details of various schemes. Dr. Sachchidanand Singh of Krishi Vigyan Kendra explained the benefits of vermicompost and natural farming while warning against the harmful effects of chemical farming.
Farmers and representatives raised issues of crop loss due to floods and demanded timely seed distribution at the block level. Women farmers also sought timely benefits of schemes. The programme was conducted by senior agriculture nodal Suman, with vote of thanks by farmer advisor Santosh Kumar Singh. Several local leaders and farmers were present.
