PATNA---------------------------Significant news has emerged from the political corridors of Bihar: the JDU has taken major action against Mokama MLA and strongman leader Anant Singh, expelling him from the party. He has been expelled from the party for a period of six years. Furthermore, his wife, Neelam Devi, has also been shown the door.

It is worth noting that for some time, Anant Singh had been making statements that consistently deviated from the party line. He had used inappropriate and derogatory language toward senior party leaders and had campaigned against the party’s candidate during the Legislative Council elections. The Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] has issued a formal letter regarding his expulsion.

JD(U) State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha issued the letter, which states that Anant Kumar Singh’s primary party membership has been revoked due to his persistent disregard for party directives over the past few days, his use of inappropriate and derogatory language toward the top leadership, and his actions against the party’s candidate—including campaigning for a candidate from another party—during the recently concluded Legislative Council elections.

His primary party membership has been cancelled with immediate effect, and he has been expelled from the party for the next six years. JD(U) State President Umesh Kushwaha issued this order and has also recommended to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly that Anant Singh’s legislative membership be revoked
