BHABHUA--------------------------A young woman died after being bitten by a snake in Dhanadhi village, under the Kudra police station area of the district. A wave of grief swept through the village following the incident, and the deceased's family is inconsolable.
According to reports, Pratima Kumari (23), daughter of local resident Ramesh Bind, was sleeping on the roof of her house at night when she was bitten by a cobra (*Gehuwa* snake). People at the scene subsequently killed the snake.
Upon seeing her condition deteriorate, family members rushed her to the hospital for treatment, but she passed away during medical care.
Upon learning of the incident, people from neighboring villages arrived at the deceased's home to offer condolences to the bereaved family. The entire area is in a state of mourning due to this tragedy.
Locals state that incidents of snake sightings have been increasing during the rainy season. They have demanded that the Health Department ensure an adequate supply of anti-snake venom at Primary Health Centers and that the administration conduct awareness campaigns in rural areas to ensure timely treatment for such incidents in the future.
