VILLAGE CHOWKIDAR DROWNED IN THE VILLAGE POND

BUXAR-------------------------A Chowkidar drowned in a pond in the morning at about 9am in the village pond while having a dip. The deceased was identified as Nandji Yadav 55 son of late Sitaram Yadav of Lakhandihra village under Dumraon police station in Buxar district. Rural divers took him out of the pond and rushed him to the Sub-Divisional hospital where the doctor declared him dead. The police arrived at the spot and brought the body to the Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The police also bade final farewell to the departed soul.

SHO Dumraon police station Sanjeet said that Nand Jee was a very active chowidar and used to help in preventing every small incident in his area by giving timely information to the police.

Reportedly, his nephew Harendra Yadav’s wife had died a day before and after the last rites, he had gone to the village pond to complete rituals where before pouring water in the pitcher, he went to take bath in the pond and drowned in the pond. People tried to rescue him but in vain.
