ARA----------------------------Crowds of devotees thronged Shiva temples on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The temples resounded with chants of "Har Har Mahadev." A large number of devotees performed Jalabhishek and Dudhbhishek on the Shivalinga on the occasion of Mahashivratri. In addition, devotees offered sandalwood paste, abir, gulal, turmeric, dhatura flowers and fruits, bel leaves, madar flowers and garlands, bhang, shami leaves, incense, lamps, naivedya, and various fruits. Shiva temples were decorated with various types of lights and series bulbs. Devotional songs playing on loudspeakers created a devotional atmosphere. From villages to cities, chants of Bhole Baba were heard everywhere. Many people also performed Rudrabhishek in their homes on this occasion. A large number of women, girls, boys and men kept fast on the occasion of Mahashivratri and ate fruits. The paths leading to the Shiva temples are illuminated with colourful bulbs, garlands and LED lights. The dazzling light makes the night look like day. Mahashivratri is being celebrated with great enthusiasm from villages to cities. The famous Shri Siddhanath Baiju Baba Shiva Temple located at Bhimpatti in Shahpur block of Bhojpur district was crowded with devotees since morning. In Baba Barmeshwar Nath Temple located at Brahmapur in Buxar district, devotees offered water to Baba Barmeshwarnath and performed puja till evening. More or less the same situation was seen in all the Shiva temples.
