PROJECT FOR PCC AND DRAIN CONSTRUCTION REMAINS ON PAPER

ARA--------------------------The Shahpur Nagar Panchayat is often the subject of discussion for its working style. The latest case is in Ward No. 01, where government procedures were followed in the name of development, but the situation on the ground remains the same. Despite the issuance of an e-tender, the development project for PCC and drain construction remains confined to paper.

According to information, an official tender was issued in March 2018 for the construction of a PCC road and drain from Banahi Road to Jaipal Yadav's house in Ward No. 01 of Shahpur Nagar Panchayat. A hefty sum of ₹962,400 was allocated for this important project. This gave local residents renewed hope that they would soon receive a paved road.

Ironically, more than six years after the tender was issued, not a single piece of construction work is visible on the ground. Local residents say they have been waiting for the construction of this road and drain for a long time, but work has not yet begun.

There is also deep confusion among citizens as to whether the tender was canceled due to technical reasons or whether the allocated budget was used elsewhere. Due to a lack of transparency at the departmental level, no official information is available regarding the current status of this important project.

Meanwhile, the former city vice president stated that if the tender was canceled, the clear reason should have been made public. And if the project is pending, an immediate investigation should be conducted and necessary legal action should be taken against all those responsible, including the contractor.
