Singh—Director of Shiv Rama Children Hospital (located at Charitravan Jail Mor in the city) and a renowned pediatrician—has offered crucial advice to parents regarding the care of newborn babies.

Dr. Singh stated that rapid changes in weather and rising temperatures have the most significant impact on newborns, as their bodies are unable to adapt immediately to environmental shifts. Consequently, parents must exercise special vigilance and provide extra care for their infants during this period.

He advised parents to dress newborns in light, cotton clothing during the summer season, protect them from direct exposure to sunlight, and maintain a cool and well-ventilated environment inside the home. Furthermore, infants should be breastfed regularly to ensure their bodies remain adequately hydrated.

Dr. Singh noted that if an infant exhibits symptoms such as fever, lethargy, reduced milk intake, excessive sweating, or red skin rashes, parents should not take these signs lightly; instead, they should seek immediate medical consultation.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining strict hygiene for newborns, adding that cleaning the baby's body with lukewarm water is safer than bathing them repeatedly with cold water.

Finally, he appealed to parents, warning that even minor negligence during the summer months can have serious repercussions on an infant's health; therefore, they should seek a doctor's advice periodically and ensure their children are kept in a clean, cool, and safe environment.
