PANCHAYAT DEVELOOMENT DAY CELEBRATED

ARA-------------------------Under a new initiative by the Government of Bihar, 'Panchayat Development Day' is observed on the last Sunday of every month; accordingly, the event was organized today, June 28, 2026, across all 226 Gram Panchayats of Bhojpur district. This year, the event was held under the theme "Women-Friendly Gram Panchayat," witnessing enthusiastic participation from a large number of women and villagers. During these events, Gram Sabhas were organized to discuss various crucial topics, including the holistic development of Panchayats, women's empowerment, sanitation, public participation, local development schemes, and the effective implementation of government welfare programs. Additionally, a collective screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popular radio program, 'Mann Ki Baat,' was held, which was attended by public representatives, officials, and villagers.

District and block-level officials, Panchayat representatives (including Mukhiyas, Sarpanchs, and Ward members), 'Jivika Didis' (members of women's self-help groups), and a large number of villagers actively participated in the programs held across various Panchayats in the district. Describing Panchayats as the cornerstone of rural development, officials emphasized the need for the timely, transparent, and high-quality implementation of schemes through public participation.

The objective of 'Panchayat Vikas Diwas' (Panchayat Development Day) is to make Gram Sabhas more active and effective, strengthen public participation within Panchayats, and ensure that the benefits of rural development and public welfare schemes reach every eligible individual.
