MLA’S INITIATIVE TO UPHOLD WOMEN’S DIGNITY

BUXAR---------------------------Amidst the ongoing discussions surrounding a video that went rapidly viral on social media, a sense of relief and pride has emerged among the public now that the true reality of the incident has come to light. In the video, Dumraon's JD(U) MLA, Rahul Singh, was seen arguing with a motorcyclist alongside his bodyguards and some locals—a clip that had previously led to accusations of hooliganism being leveled against him.

Upon investigating the matter, the MLA provided full details of the incident, explaining that it occurred on Friday evening near the Western Railway Crossing in Dumraon. According to him, he was traveling in his vehicle when he observed a young man on a motorcycle repeatedly bumping into and harassing a woman riding a scooter ahead of him.

The MLA stated that the woman was repeatedly asking the young man to stop, but he refused to desist. Perceiving the gravity of the situation, he personally stepped out of his vehicle, rushed to the scene, intercepted the young man, and admonished him. During this exchange, bystanders gathered at the spot, and one individual slapped the young man. Subsequently, the young man was released after being issued a stern warning.

MLA Rahul Singh alleged that a short clip of the incident was distorted and circulated on social media in an attempt to derive political mileage from the situation. He unequivocally declared that he would always stand up and protest whenever the dignity of any woman is compromised.

The MLA remarked that in India, women are revered as embodiments of divine feminine power (*Matrushakti*) and accorded the status of goddesses; furthermore, on the auspicious occasion of the ongoing Chaitra Navratri, it is the duty of every member of society to step forward and ensure the honor and safety of women.

Now that the truth behind the incident has been revealed, locals—as well as numerous individuals on social media—are applauding the MLA's initiative. Residents of the region are expressing a sense of pride, hailing his decisive action in defense of women's dignity as a positive and commendable step.
