ARA-------------------------On Monday, near the Surya Mandir (Sun Temple) in Chandwa—located within the jurisdiction of the Nawada Police Station in Arrah city—an out-of-control Hyva truck collided with a couple riding a scooter.

On Monday, near the Surya Mandir in Chandwa (Nawada Police Station area), an out-of-control Hyva truck struck a couple riding a scooter. The wife died in the accident, while her husband, who was driving the scooter, sustained injuries. He received medical treatment at a private hospital in the city. Meanwhile, immediately after the incident, the driver abandoned the Hyva truck and fled the scene.

Following the incident, the anger of local residents flared up. The enraged crowd blocked the road near the Surya Mandir in Chandwa and engaged in vandalism. They smashed the windshield of the Hyva truck and deflated its tires. The road blockade lasted for approximately three and a quarter hours, resulting in long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road and bringing traffic to a complete standstill.

Upon receiving the information, Nawada Station House Officer (SHO) Vipin Bihari arrived at the scene with a police force. He reasoned with the crowd and successfully had the blockade lifted, allowing traffic movement to resume. The police subsequently sent the body for a post-mortem examination at the Sadar Hospital. According to reports, the deceased is Neetu Devi, the 40-year-old wife of Sudhir Kumar Singh—alias Tunna Singh—a resident of Kaushik Dularpur village within the jurisdiction of the Mufassil Police Station.

The deceased's husband, Sudhir Kumar Singh (alias Tunna Singh), sustained injuries in the accident. Sudhir Kumar Singh holds the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Jharkhand Police. He is posted in the Garhwa district of Jharkhand; however, he is currently on deputation at the Ranchi High Court. His family resides in Ranchi.
