AAR------------------------------Delivering a discourse today—on the fifth day of the *Shrimad Bhagavat Katha* week organized in Jagdev Nagar—the Head of the *Shrimat Sanatan Shakti Peeth*, Acharya Dr. Bharatbhushan Ji Maharaj, stated that by assuming the incarnation of Shri Krishna, the Lord protected the residents of Gokul from all calamities and paved the way for their all-round upliftment. The Acharya explained that the collective realm of living beings—this very world—is referred to as Gokul. On the very sixth day of His manifestation, Lord Shri Krishna delivered Putana—the demoness who preyed upon children—from her sinful existence. He rendered the entire *Vrajmandal* safe and secure by delivering various demons from their evil ways, including Shaktasura, Trinavarta, Vatsasura, Bakasura, Aghasura, Dhenukasura, and Pralambasura. The Acharya further noted that Lord Shri Krishna dispelled the delusion of the celestial deities; He bestowed the vision of His true divine form upon Lord Brahma, the sons of Yaksharaj Kubera, Lord Agni (the Fire God), and Lord Varuna, thereby granting them spiritual fulfillment. Devraj Indra (the King of Gods) had unleashed a cataclysmic crisis upon *Vrajmandal* by dispatching the *Samvartaka* clouds; Lord Shri Krishna averted this disaster by continuously holding aloft the seven-mile-wide Govardhan Mountain with a single hand for seven consecutive days. Having shattered the arrogance of Lord Indra, Shri Krishna graciously brought him under His divine discipline. The celestial cow, Kamadhenu, offered her salutations to the Lord for His protection of the bovine community and Gokul, and—through the hands of Devraj Indra—performed His ceremonial anointing to the exalted title of "Govinda." The Acharya concluded by explaining that Lord Shri Krishna came to be known as "Govinda" because He serves as the protector (*Indra*) of the bovine community and the entire realm of Gokul—which, in essence, represents the entire world.
