SASARAM---------------------------The Rohtas district unit of Jan Suraaj organized a protest march in Sasaram on Tuesday to condemn the fake encounter that took place in Bhojpur. The march proceeded from Gandhi Smarak to Post Office Chowk. Led by District President Raviranjan Singh, Jan Suraaj supporters raised slogans against the Bihar Police and the Bihar Government, demanding justice for Bharat Tiwari. During the protest march, leaders demanded that an FIR for murder be registered against the police personnel who shot and killed Bharat Tiwari; that the guilty officers face a speedy trial and be sentenced to death; that Bharat's family receive immediate compensation of ₹1 crore; that a family member be given a government job; and that Bharat Tiwari be accorded the status of a martyr. Bharat Tiwari had been fighting for village issues without any personal agenda; the police personnel who shot him—after he had surrendered—and then passed it off as an encounter deserve nothing less than the death penalty. Attendees at the march included Sasaram parliamentary election in-charge Vinod Tiwari, Sangharsh Vahini State Vice President Rohit Pandey, District Women's Wing President Priyanka Singh, State Executive Committee member Neha Natraj, Women's Wing Spokesperson Ratan Sinha, Intellectual Cell President Dr. Amitabh Kumar Singh, Karpuri Manch President Kanhaiya Sharma, Vijay Shankar Tiwari, Manish Kumar Pandey, Manoranjan Kumar Ojha, Krishna Pandey, Anup Pandey, and dozens of youths.
