IRATE VILLAGERS BLOCKED ROAD

ARA----------------------------A speeding truck ran over a couple riding a motorcycle near Kaunra Mathiya village on the Ara-Mohania National Highway, within the jurisdiction of the Jagdishpur police station. The husband died on the spot, while his wife sustained minor injuries. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the truck.

Following the accident, local villagers were enraged. Demanding compensation, they blocked the Ara-Mohania National Highway near Kaunra Mathiya village and raised slogans against the administration. The blockade lasted for about two hours, causing long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road and bringing traffic to a complete standstill.

Upon receiving the information, Jagdishpur Station House Officer (SHO) Sushant Kumar Mandal arrived at the scene and attempted to pacify the crowd. The police eventually persuaded the people to clear the blockade, allowing traffic to resume. The police took possession of the body for a post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital and seized the truck.

According to reports, the deceased was Lalbabu Yadav (50), son of Shivaji Yadav, a resident of Masarh Dakshini Tola village under the Gajrajganj Outpost (OP) area. He was a farmer by profession and was currently serving as a member of Ward No. 13 in the Masarh Panchayat.
