PATNA-------------------------A major coup in Bihar! Home portfolio to be taken away from the BJP, Nishant Kumar to become Deputy CM? For the first time, a Chief Minister will be elected from the BJP quota! Today, something hardly anyone could have imagined happened in Bihar politics. The news that has been filtering out after the high-profile JDU meeting has created a political storm from Bihar to Delhi.

Bihar politics is witnessing significant turmoil. Political activity is rife regarding CM Nitish Kumar's Rajya Sabha candidacy. Discussions are also swirling regarding the new Chief Minister's candidate. Meanwhile, significant news has emerged. A key decision was made at a recent JDU meeting regarding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar. Party MLAs unanimously approved the proposal to appoint Nishant Kumar as Deputy CM.

According to sources, JDU MLAs have also decided to soon appoint Nishant Kumar as a member of the legislature to play a key role in the government. This could lead to his appointment as a Legislative Council (MLC) member in April. Following this, his candidacy for the nine-seat biennial elections in June is also considered certain.

According to reports, a major reshuffle in the government is also underway. JDU is preparing to take back the Home Ministry from the BJP. It is believed that the distribution of departments may change due to the balance of power. The decision to appoint Nishant Kumar as Deputy CM received unanimous support at the JDU MLA meeting. There is also consensus within the JDU on appointing him as CM from the BJP quota. Meanwhile, Nishant is seen as a future leader within the party.

According to constitutional provisions, to become a minister or deputy chief minister in the state government, a person must be a member of the Legislative Assembly or Legislative Council. Therefore, the plan is to first appoint Nishant Kumar as an MLC. While an official announcement regarding these decisions is still pending, political circles are seeing this as the beginning of a major shift in Bihar politics.
