GOVIND’S LYRICAL GHAZALS ARE CLOSELY ALIGNED WITH CHHAYAVADI PEOTIC TRENDS: Dr. ANIL SULABH

Without making any noise or creating a ruckus on public stages, and while constantly engaged in solitary artistic devotion, the poems of poet Mrityunjay Govind appear to be closely aligned with the trends of *Chhayavad* (Romanticism) and *Uttar-Chhayavad* (Post-Romanticism)—a realm from which a mystical universe is unveiled. Through the medium of imagery and symbols, his verses reach into the mystical depths of poetry, allowing readers to experience its divine bliss.

PATNA-------------------------Without making any noise or creating a ruckus on public stages, and while constantly engaged in solitary artistic devotion, the poems of poet Mrityunjay Govind appear to be closely aligned with the trends of *Chhayavad* (Romanticism) and *Uttar-Chhayavad* (Post-Romanticism)—a realm from which a mystical universe is unveiled. Through the medium of imagery and symbols, his verses reach into the mystical depths of poetry, allowing readers to experience its divine bliss.

These observations were made by Dr. Anil Sulabh, President of the *Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan* (Bihar Hindi Literary Conference), while presiding over the launch ceremony and poets' gathering held for Shri Govind’s ghazal collection, *Pattharon Ka Shahar* (City of Stones). He remarked that this beautiful bouquet of 128 lyrical ghazals—much like a cluster of flowers possessing diverse colors, forms, and fragrances—encapsulates the myriad flavors, facets, and scents of life. It contains both the poignant anguish of society and the resonance of love; a profound faith in life, alongside a resistance against the erosion of moral values; the struggles of existence, as well as the inner inspiration drawn from those struggles. With his delicate choice of words, Govind also delivers sharp critiques against societal absurdities and contentious issues. From the line, "The dust from my feet must surely have traveled as far as the mountains!" to "The potter's wheel spins; smoke rises from the lamps," the poet has endeavored to touch upon every facet of life. The poet's tone is mystical; therefore, readers must transcend the realm of the literal meanings of his lines, ascend to an intellectual plane, and there embrace the true essence of the poetry.

While formally unveiling the book, Justice Sanjay Kumar—Chairman of the State Consumer Commission, Bihar—observed that the language of the newly launched volume is simple, yet the underlying thoughts are profound. He expressed confidence that readers would undoubtedly derive great benefit from this book. Welcoming the guests, the conference’s Literary Secretary, Bhagwati Prasad Dwivedi, remarked that today, cities of concrete have become the dwelling places of people with hearts of stone. In this era of emotional void, the poet of the newly released book—Mr. Govind—has given poignant expression to the suffering of society and the essence of human compassion through his *ghazals*. Senior poets Mrityunjay Mishra ‘Karunesh’, Urmila Verma, Chanda Verma, Vandana Sinha, Mr. Purushottam, Adya Shivam, and Adya Shambhavi also shared their thoughts and extended their best wishes to the poet.

During the vote of thanks, the book's author, Mr. Govind, also recited some of his *ghazals*. The poetry symposium organized on this occasion commenced with a devotional invocation (*Vani-Vandana*) by Chanda Mishra. Senior poets Mrityunjay Mishra ‘Karunesh’, Prof. Sunil Kumar Upadhyay, Kumar Anupam, Sujata Mishra, Raushan Verma, Indu Bhushan Sahay, Ashwini Kaviraj, and others enriched the ceremony with their poetic compositions. The proceedings were anchored by Brahmanand Pandey, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Krishnaranjan Singh. A large number of intellectuals—including Prabhat Sinha, Rajesh Kumar, Raj Kumar Sharma, Dr. Anand Vardhan, Nandan Kumar Meet, Kumari Menaka, and Dolly Kumari—were present at the ceremony.
