ARA-------------------------A case of gang rape involving a teenage girl who had gone out to relieve herself has come to light in a village within the Shahpur police station area of ​​the district. The incident has caused a sensation throughout the village and the surrounding areas. In connection with this matter, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against five youths, based on the statement provided by the victim. Acting swiftly—within just seven hours—the police arrested all five accused individuals involved in the gang rape and sent them to jail. Superintendent of Police Raj disclosed this information on Monday through a press release.

He stated that the arrested accused include Pramod Dhanuk (19), son of Nandji Dhanuk; Dipu Dhanuk (18), son of Bahadur Dhanuk; Batal Dhanuk (19), son of the late Mahavir Dhanuk; Tekti Pal alias Sanjay Pal (19), son of Chhotak Pal; and Jitesh Kumar (18), son of Ramayan Thakur—all residents of Bankat village within the Shahpur police station jurisdiction.

Late Sunday evening, as the teenage girl was leaving her home to relieve herself, she was surrounded by the five youths from the village. Threatening her with a knife, they forcibly seized her and dragged her to a village orchard, where she was gang-raped. After the victim screamed and cried out for help, her mother brought her home and dialed 112.

Subsequently, the local police station acted swiftly, conducting raids late Sunday night to arrest the five named accused individuals. Following this, after the victim underwent a medical examination, she was produced before the court on Monday to have her statement recorded under Section 164. Thereafter, all five accused were sent to jail by the police. Charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, have been invoked against the arrested accused.
