ARA----------------------------The case surrounding the death of Bharat Tiwari has taken a new turn following a *Mahapanchayat* (grand public gathering) convened two days ago. On the very night of the *Mahapanchayat*, amidst tight security, the Bhojpur Superintendent of Police (SP) visited Bharat Tiwari's home and met his parents and brother. It is reported that the SP told the family, "We have come only to listen."
During the meeting, the family's anguish became evident. Weeping bitterly, the family members asked the SP a direct question: if Bharat Tiwari had surrendered by throwing down his weapon, why was he killed, and at whose behest? The Bhojpur SP could not provide a clear answer to these questions.
The family has consistently questioned the police action regarding Bharat Tiwari's death. They allege that several serious aspects of the entire incident have not yet been brought to light. Consequently, the family has intensified its demand for action against the Jagdishpur SDM. They maintain that accountability must be fixed at the administrative level as well.
Meanwhile, an atmosphere of outrage already prevails in the area over Bharat Tiwari's death. The issue has gained further political and social momentum following the *Mahapanchayat*. The biggest question now is whether the Bihar government and the administration will take action against the Jagdishpur SDM as demanded by the family, or if the matter will remain confined to mere assurances.
For now, the family's allegations, the SP's visit following the *Mahapanchayat*, and the demand for action against the SDM have made the entire episode highly sensitive. All eyes are now fixed on the next course of action by the Bihar government and the administration.
