ARA-------------------------A team of CPI(ML) leaders visited the home of 30-year-old Sanoj Ram—a resident of Ganj in Bihiya block who has been missing from police custody for the past eight months—to meet his family. The team included CPI(ML) Central Committee member and Bhojpur District Secretary Abhyuday; Central Committee member and Buxar District Secretary Naveen Kumar; INYSS National President and former Dumraon MLA Ajit Kushwaha; State Committee member and former Agiaon MLA Shivprakash Ranjan; Central Committee member and farmer leader Raju Yadav; State Committee member Shabbir Kumar; District Office Secretary Dilraj Pritam; District Standing Committee member Chandan Kumar; Bihiya Block Secretary Harendra Singh; and Uttam Paswan. CPI(ML) leaders stated that on August 13, 2025, Sanoj Ram had gone to Doghara for wage labor. When he was delayed in the evening, he called his brother, Manoj Ram, to inform him that the Excise Department police had arrested him near Dharhara Musahar Toli. During a subsequent call, Sanoj Ram told his brother that the police were beating him brutally and pleaded to be saved. When his family members went to the local Excise Department police station, they were turned away and told that no one had been arrested there. At the time of his arrest, his wife had a three-month-old infant; tragically, the child died shortly after birth due to malnutrition. His father submitted a written complaint to the local Bihiya police station the following day, yet no action has been taken on it to date. MP Sudama Prasad had met Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania to demand Sanoj Ram's safe recovery, but he remains missing. Consequently, his father, Gaurishankar Ram, approached the High Court two months ago; the High Court subsequently ordered action against the guilty police personnel, leading to their arrest. CPI(ML) leaders remarked that the "police raj" (police rule) being established in Bihar under the Samrat Chaudhary-led government has caused incidents of police high-handedness to reach an all-time high. Meanwhile, the family alleges that the police murdered Sanoj Ram and dumped his body at an unknown location.

CPI(ML) leaders demanded that the Bhojpur district administration explain how Sanoj Ram vanished from police custody. They insisted that the administration must answer for this and warned that if Sanoj Ram is not safely recovered, the CPI(ML) would launch a protest movement.

Furthermore, the CPI(ML) leaders demanded compensation of one crore rupees for Sanoj Ram's family and called for a double murder case to be registered against the guilty police personnel, urging that they be given the strictest punishment.
