ARA-----------------------A special cleanliness drive was organized today at Ramna Maidan, Ara, by the 5 Bihar Battalion NCC, Ara, under the 'Puneet Sagar Abhiyan' (Clean Sea/Water Body Campaign). The drive was conducted under the direction of the Battalion's Commanding Officer, Colonel Puneet Srivastava.
Approximately 170 NCC cadets participated in the drive with great enthusiasm. The cadets cleaned Ramna Maidan and the surrounding areas; while doing so, they raised awareness among the general public about cleanliness and conveyed the message of keeping their surroundings clean. The objective of the campaign was to take the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' (Clean India Mission) to the masses and foster a sense of social responsibility among the youth.
NCC staff members—including Subedar Barun Kumar Saha, Havildar Tinku Kumar Singh, Havildar Rajesh, and Senior GCI Bimla Kumari—along with the cadets, were present during the event. Everyone pledged to make cleanliness a daily habit and to work towards creating a clean and healthy society.
