CHILD DIED AFTER GETTING INJECTION

ARA-----------------------------A young boy died after receiving an injection in Kurmuri village, located within the Sikrahata police station area of ​​the district. He breathed his last while being transported to the Piro Primary Health Centre (PHC) for treatment. Meanwhile, the family members have alleged that the boy's death was caused by an improper injection administered by an unlicensed practitioner (a "quack" doctor).

Upon receiving news of the incident, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sikrahata, accompanied by a police force, rushed to the scene. They took custody of the body and arranged for a post-mortem examination.

According to reports, the deceased boy—identified as Arjun Kumar—was the 8-year-old son of Anil Sharma, a resident of Kurmuri village within the Sikrahata police station jurisdiction. Separately, the deceased boy's uncle, Sunil Kumar Sharma, stated that on Thursday, while the children were playing, the boy was struck near the eye by a stone thrown by his younger brother; the impact caused a laceration near the eye, resulting in bleeding.

The family members took the boy to a private medical clinic located in Fatehpur Bazaar to seek treatment from a doctor practicing there. At the clinic, the wound was dressed, and the boy was administered an injection. The doctor instructed the family to give the boy something to eat, stating that he would administer a second injection afterward. Consequently, the family fed the boy a *Rasgulla*.

A short while later, the doctor administered the second injection. Immediately after receiving the injection, the boy began to writhe in distress, prompting the doctor to refer him to the Piro hospital. The family members first took him to a private hospital in Piro, but they were advised there to take him to the government hospital instead. The family then transported him to the Piro PHC for treatment, where he was pronounced dead.
