BHABHUA--------------------------A case of cattle smuggling was uncovered on Monday in the Kudra police station area, thanks to the vigilance of local villagers. The villagers intercepted a pickup truck transporting a cow and a buffalo, subsequently handing over the animals and the suspects to the police. According to reports, Rajat Singh, a resident of Kudra, was on his way to his shop when he spotted two animals loaded onto a pickup truck under suspicious circumstances near the Kudra overbridge. Suspicious of the situation, he stopped the vehicle and began questioning its occupants. Meanwhile, locals—including Rahul Singh, Roshan Kumar, Suman Pathak, Gaurav Singh, and several others—gathered at the scene.

During the interrogation, one of the individuals inside the vehicle seized the opportunity to flee the spot. When the driver and another occupant failed to provide satisfactory explanations, the villagers immediately alerted the Kudra police. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and took both suspects into custody. The arrested accused have been identified as Haider Ali (25), son of Jabbar Hussain, and Jumman Qureshi (23), son of Mohammad Riyazuddin Qureshi; both are residents of Khurmabad village, under the Chenari police station jurisdiction in Rohtas district. The police have recovered both animals and have initiated further legal proceedings following the interrogation of the accused.
