ARA-----------------------------In accordance with the State Government's directives, the majority of cases being brought before the SDM's 'Janata Darbar'—held every Monday and Friday—pertain to land disputes. A gratifying aspect of this process is that the SDM is facilitating the resolution of numerous land-related matters through mutual settlement. The resolution of cases through mutual agreement not only saves both the plaintiffs and the complainants time and money but also completely eliminates the possibility of future disputes arising from the same issue. Furthermore, this process goes a long way in dispelling the bitterness and animosity that may have arisen between the two parties due to such disputes. Thanks to the SDM's initiative, a significant number of such land disputes have been resolved through mutual settlement to date—a development widely regarded as a positive sign for society. During the 'Janata Darbar' held by the Sub-Divisional Officer on Monday, five out of the total eight cases presented involved land disputes. Upon hearing these cases, the SDM counseled both parties and endeavored to persuade them to reach a mutual settlement. However, in instances where either party remains unwilling to accept a mutual settlement, the SDM proceeds to adopt the appropriate legal procedures in accordance with established regulations.
