ARA-------------------------The body of 10-year-old Aditya Pandey, who had been missing for six days in the Barhara police station area of Bhojpur district, was recovered from a well in the village on Sunday morning. Following the discovery of the body, the family and villagers erupted in anger. They blocked the Ara-Barhara road near Barka Lauhar village, demanding the arrest of the culprits. During the protest, there was arson and intense sloganeering. The blockade caused long queues of vehicles on both lanes of the road. Local Station House Officer Ravikant, along with police personnel, reached the spot and tried to bring the situation under control.
The deceased Aditya Pandey's father, Rajnikant Pandey, said that Aditya was the elder of two brothers. His family includes his mother, Tinkle Devi, and younger brother, Bhanu Kumar Pandey. His father, Rajnikant, works at a mall in Ara city.
The father further stated that about two months ago, Aditya had gone to his maternal grandparents' village, Dubey Chhapra, in the Sinha police station area, with his mother. There, he had an argument with a neighbor, Kunwar Tatwa. After that, he returned to his village.
His mother went to her parents' village again on December 18th. During this time, the neighbor had threatened her, saying, "I will inflict such a wound on you that you will remember it for the rest of your life."
On the evening of December 22nd, the neighbor was organizing a religious ceremony (Yagna) in Chhaprapar village. Aditya went out for a walk around 3 PM and had been missing ever since. The family had filed a police complaint the same day.
The child's body was recovered from the well based on information from the villagers. Preliminary investigations revealed that the child was murdered after being kidnapped. The deceased's family has alleged that the neighbor, Kunwar Tatwa, may be behind the crime.
Police said that based on the statements of the family members, an investigation has been launched, and suspects are being identified and action is being taken against them. After the body was found, the family and villagers blocked the road and created a disturbance. The arson and sloganeering created a tense atmosphere in the area. The police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
The family and villagers are demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits. The deceased's father said, "We want the accused to be caught and punished as soon as possible. Aditya was a very dear child to us, and his murder has devastated the family."
Bhojpur police have launched an investigation, considering the seriousness of the case. Nearby villages and administrative officials have also been informed.
