ARA-------------------------The brutal murder of Rajesh Yadav in Tipura village, under the Bihiya police station area of Bhojpur district, has not only shaken local residents but also raised serious questions regarding the functioning of the Bihiya police administration. About 20 days ago, the prime accused in the murder, Yogendra Yadav, had engaged in assault and opened fire in the Tipura-Baswariya village area. At that time, a named FIR had been lodged at the Bihiya police station by Harendra Yadav, a resident of Tipura.
Family members of the deceased stated that on June 20, 2026, Yogendra Yadav and his associates had assaulted Harendra Yadav (son of Angad Yadav)—also a resident of Tipura—and fired at him with the intent to kill. Harendra Yadav had filed a written complaint regarding this incident at the Bihiya police station, but the police took no action. Had the police apprehended the accused then, Rajesh’s murder could have been averted.
According to the complaint submitted at the station, Harendra Yadav alleged that near Baswariya, Yogendra Yadav (son of the late Chhathu Yadav), Sonu Yadav (son of Baliram Yadav), and Arjun Yadav alias Prem Kumar (son of Bharat Yadav) assaulted him and fired shots with the intent to kill; he had narrowly escaped the attack. Based on this serious complaint, Case No. 200/26 was registered at the Bihiya police station.
The family firmly believes that had the police treated the case registered on June 20 seriously and ensured the immediate arrest of the accused, this murder could have been prevented. Rajesh Yadav’s untimely death is a direct consequence of the police's laxity and negligence.
The family is deeply outraged that police inaction emboldened Yogendra Yadav to commit such a heinous crime. Their anguish and anger regarding the police's apathy are at their peak.
