ANTI-ENCROACHMENT DRIVE AT VEGETABLE MARKET

ARA---------------------------Acting on the directives of the District Magistrate of Bhojpur, Mr. Tanay Sultania, a large-scale anti-encroachment drive was conducted on Monday at Arrah’s renowned Gola Vegetable Market. The primary objective of this operation was to provide relief to the general public from the severe overcrowding and traffic congestion issues plaguing the market area.

To ensure the success of the drive, the district administration constituted a joint team comprising deputed magistrates, the Municipal Corporation's enforcement squad, and a substantial police force. Arriving at the market early in the morning, the team identified illegal encroachments on both sides of the roads and in public spaces, subsequently initiating the process of removing them using JCBs and other mechanical means.

Measurements were taken to precisely identify those sections where shopkeepers or vendors had—either permanently or temporarily—encroached upon the roadway. Following the removal of these encroachments, roads that had appeared constricted for years now look wide and open, thereby facilitating smoother movement for both vehicles and pedestrians.

During the drive, strict warnings were issued to the encroachers, strictly prohibiting them from occupying public spaces again. Officials issued the following clarifications: If the roads are encroached upon again in the future, severe fines will be imposed, and legal action (including the filing of an FIR) will be initiated. In addition to maintaining order within the market area, shopkeepers have been instructed to pay special attention to cleanliness and hygiene.

The district administration has made it clear that making the city organized and congestion-free remains their top priority. Similar anti-encroachment drives will continue unabated in other major markets and busy localities across Arrah city to ensure that common citizens do not have to face inconvenience.
