This has once again been proven by the arrest of an accused who had been absconding for 14 years in connection with a sensational murder case that took place in Gujarat's Surat district in 2012. A joint operation by the Bihar STF and the Karnamepur police station achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending the accused.

In 2012, a homeowner was brutally murdered during a burglary in Surat, Gujarat. Police investigations into the case had primarily implicated two individuals from Ishwarpura village, under the jurisdiction of the Karnamepur police station in Bhojpur district. While one accused was apprehended during the initial police action, he died on the spot after jumping from a roof in a bid to escape police custody.

However, the second accused involved in the incident, Bhola Singh, managed to evade arrest. For the past 14 years, Bhola Singh had been living in hiding at various locations under an assumed identity. The Gujarat Police had been searching for him for a long time and had made continuous efforts to apprehend him.

Acting on a tip-off regarding the accused, the Bihar STF and Karnamepur police acted swiftly. Bhola Singh was arrested from his ancestral village, Ishwarpura, during a well-planned raid conducted on Sunday night. This arrest stands as an excellent example of inter-state police coordination, paving the way for the resolution of a long-pending, serious case.

Necessary legal formalities are being completed following the arrest. Preparations are underway to hand over the accused to the concerned agency so that he can be taken to Gujarat for further judicial proceedings.
