ARA----------------------------Shahpur MLA Rakesh Ranjan Ojha has raised serious questions about the encounter involving the accused in the theft at the Thawe temple in Gopalganj and expressed dissatisfaction with the police action. During a conversation with media persons, he not only expressed anger over police negligence but also advocated for the strictest action against criminals, their associates, and illegal immigrants.
Reacting to the incident where the accused in the idol theft from the Thawe temple was apprehended in an encounter in Ranisagar under the Shahpur police station area of Bhojpur, MLA Ojha said, “We have received news that he was probably shot in the leg. The police should have shot him in the head.” He termed it police negligence and clarified that no sympathy should be shown towards such serious criminals. Ojha emphasized that this is not just a crime, but also a ‘sin’ that has hurt the religious sentiments of the people. He also demanded an investigation into who gave these people entry into that temple.
Expressing deep concern about the Ranisagar area, MLA Ojha described it as a “crime hotspot.” He alleged that “illegal immigrants” are living in this area and urged the District Magistrate to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter and search every house. The MLA apprehended that some Pakistani and Bangladeshi infiltrators also take refuge in Ranisagar and escape when they get a chance, which requires strict action.
Ojha clearly stated that merely apprehending the accused will not bring justice. He demanded that “those who have supported him, those who have dared to hide him in Ranisagar, should also be identified and their properties should be bulldozed.”
Highlighting another serious aspect of the case, the MLA mentioned the accused's marriage. He said, “The biggest thing is that he has married a Hindu girl. This is the extreme limit of love jihad.” He alleged that it is no secret how such boys are toying with Hindus, and the law needs to take strict action against them.
The MLA reiterated the demand for the harshest punishment for the culprits. According to him, "Shooting them in the leg is not the solution; such people should be shot in the head. Their story should be ended on the spot." He further said that just as the culprit desecrated the idol of the goddess, his house should also be demolished, only then will a real fear of the law be instilled in the minds of such people.
Assuring action at his level, MLA Rakesh Ranjan Ojha said that he would demand from the District Magistrate to conduct a house-to-house search in Ranisagar. His goal is to identify such "perpetrators of heinous acts" and, if the allegations are found to be true, to demolish their houses with bulldozers. He clarified that no leniency will be shown at any cost against elements that target religious places and spread hatred in society.
