SASARAM--------------------------A shocking incident has come to light in the district where a woman was beaten to death on Wednesday following an alleged dispute over money. The incident reportedly took place in the Chuna Bhatta Lalganj neighborhood under the Dehri Town police station area; the deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Pramila Devi, wife of the late Manager Das Chandravanshi, a resident of Lalganj Chuna Bhatta. Her two sons—Mukesh Kumar (19) and Mithilesh Kumar (22)—were also injured in the incident. According to the aggrieved family, before killing the woman, the accused had severely beaten her son, Mukesh Kumar. The injured son recounted that on Tuesday night, while returning home from the market, he was surrounded by Bhanu Yadav, Jitendra Yadav, and others from the village, who demanded money to buy alcohol. When Mukesh refused to give the money, they assaulted him and pushed him into a canal. However, Mukesh managed to swim out of the canal, thereby saving his life. The family alleges that subsequently, Bhanu Yadav arrived at their home with eight to ten people and attacked everyone with sticks and clubs. Other family members sustained serious injuries in the attack, while the woman died on the spot. Following the incident, there is considerable [agitation/resentment] among the locals There is public outrage, and the bereaved family is inconsolable. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Dehri police took possession of the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital, Sasaram, for a post-mortem examination. According to the police, a woman died under suspicious circumstances following a dispute between two friends. An FIR has been registered based on the complaint filed by the victim's family, and raids are underway to arrest the accused; however, the cause of death will only be confirmed—and further action determined—after the post-mortem report is received.
