ARA----------------------------On Wednesday afternoon, a dumper truck ran over three people—including a father and son riding a motorcycle—near Kasap village on the Ara-Sasaram State Highway. The father and son suffered a tragic death; they succumbed to their injuries while being transported to Patna for treatment. Another young man from the same village, who was also on the motorcycle, sustained injuries.
According to reports, the deceased have been identified as 56-year-old Ashok Kumar Singh and his 32-year-old son, Munmun Singh, residents of Bishanpura village under the Imadpur police station area. The injured person is Chhotu Kumar (21), son of Santosh Singh, also a resident of Bishanpura village.
Family members stated that the police had arrested and jailed Munna Singh—another son of the deceased Ashok Kumar Singh—the previous day in connection with an assault case. On Wednesday afternoon, Ashok Kumar Singh, along with his son Munmun Singh and his nephew Chhotu Kumar (also from the village), had traveled by motorcycle to Ara Jail to visit Munna Singh.
While the three were returning to their village on Wednesday afternoon, a dumper truck ran them over near Kasap village, leaving all three critically injured. With the help of locals, they were first taken to the Udwantnagar Primary Health Centre (PHC) and subsequently to Sadar Hospital. After receiving first aid, all three were referred to Patna for advanced medical care.
However, Ashok Kumar Singh and his son Munmun Singh passed away while being transported to Patna. The injured Chhotu Kumar is currently undergoing treatment in Patna. The police conducted post-mortem examinations on both bodies at Sadar Hospital.
